Handwara: Atleast 10 sheeps were killed and minor was injured after stray dogs attacked them in Shartigam Village of Rajwar Handwara in north Kashmir.
The local residents said panic had gripped among the residents after Stray dogs killed 10 sheeps and left a minor injured.
They said the minor girl was shifted to nearby hospital where on duty doctors referred her to District Hospital Handwara for treatment.
They effected families said the livestock is their only source of income and stray dogs have killed them and left the families in trauma.
Those who lost livestock were identified as Abdul Majid Geelani, Ghulam Qadir Ganie, Gulam Rasool and Mohammed Subhan all residents of Shartigam.
The people of the area alleged that dogs are being transported from towns to these areas which has added hardships for the people to get outside from their homes. They have appealed authorities to make steps to end the dog menace in the area at the earliest.
