G’bal: For phase-VII of the District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat by-elections, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba Tuesday dispatched 36 polling parties along with election material and Ballot Boxes to their respective polling stations from here.
The polling for phase-VII is scheduled to be held on 16 December, 2020 for 01 DDC constituency of Sherpathri, 01 vacant seats of Sarpanch and 10 vacant seats of Panch.
As per the details, 42 Candidates are in fray including 17 candidates for DDC, 3 for Sarpanch and 22 for Panch vacant seats. A total of 36 polling stations are established at 19 locations in which 14784 electorals shall exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile, the ADC informed that all essential facilities at polling stations, transportation arrangements, facilities related to COVID-19 have been put in place by the district administration to ensure smooth conduct of elections in the district.
