Jammu: The ten Day Entrepreneurship Immersion Programme organized by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR& HRM), University of Jammu concluded here Tuesday.
The Programme aimed at to sensitize, aware and increase entrepreneurial preparedness in the MBA (International Business) students.
The programme was spread over 20 live sessions with 40 hours of virtual engagement of students with the faculty of the twin premier Institutes, entrepreneurship practitioners and startups of national and international repute.
Director, JKEDI G.M. Dar, while interacting with the students highlighted the importance of shaping the entrepreneurial mindsets and the role of JKEDI in handholding, facilitation, financing of ideas at early stages.
Faculty members of JKEDI deliberated on varied topics including intricacies of enterprise creation; the global scenario of innovations, entrepreneurship and fundraising; importance and role of startups in J&K; need of women to come forward to take up entrepreneurship as a career option; incubation facilities in J&K; market research and project formulation.
Various startup owners and experts were also part of the Programme. Vaibhav Sharma, Co-founder Himalayan 360 Degree & Travel Dost, Rishi Kumar, Nursing, Deputy Chief Executive, The Municipal City Council of Port Louis, Mauritius, CA Richika Agarwal, Partner Asama Enterprise LLP, Guwahati Assam and Arindam Hazarika, Founder of Arohan Foods shared their valuable experience.
Patrick, a Faculty of Osmania University discussed about financial management for the first time entrepreneurs, while Dr. PallaviSachdeva, Faculty, Department of lifelong learning, gave insights on psychological aspects of entrepreneurship. Annil Suri, renowned industrialist from J&K also shared his experience.
Professor Neetu Andotra, Director, ICccR& HRM, University of Jammu, assured the audience that continuous collaborative arrangements with institutions like JKEDI will benefit students at formative years of career development and will help them in choosing entrepreneurship as a first career choice, thereby strengthening the local innovation ecosystem.
On the concluding day, the students gave presentation on their business ideas which was followed by the brainstorming sessions. The programme was coordinated by Vishal Ray from JKEDI and Dr. Isha Sharma from ICccR& HRM. The session was also attended by faculty members and scholars of ICccR& HRM.
