Jammu: Online Show of Paintings of Tariq Saifi, an artist from Surankot, in Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir, was inaugurated online Monday by Ramesh Arora, Former Member of Legislative Council, Jammu & Kashmir. Prof. Sunil Sexena, veteran artist from Lucknow & Advisor, JKCCA, Jammu was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. The show has been organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Regd., Jammu in collaboration with SRK Global Peace Foundation, Poonch, J&K. The exhibition is dedicated to Late (Prof.) Nilamber Dev Sharma (Padamshree), veteran writer, scholar, intellectual & former Vice President J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, and former President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu. In his inaugural message Ramesh Arora appreciated the art of Tariq Saifi, and complimented O P Sharma and both the organizations for dedicating the exhibition to Late Prof. Nilamber Dev Sharma (Padamshree), the great personality of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that he felt proud to inaugurate the online exhibition dedicated to a noble soul.
Tariq Saifi, a self taught painter has participated in a number of state, national and international level art exhibitions organised by JKCCA at Jammu and Amritsar. He has attended many artists camps and workshops organized by various organizations like National Artist Camp organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages at Mansar, and state and national level art camps organized by JKCCA, Jammu at Rajouri, Sunderbani and Mansar.
JKCCA was incepted during 1999 and is a prominent NGO in the state of J&K working under the leadership of Pt. Kewal K Sharma as its President, and O P Sharma as its Director. The organization integrates itself with the functioning of visual arts, literature and performing arts. Since its establishment, JKCCA has organized state and national level art camps & workshops and art exhibitions etc. in and outside the state. It has organized many international, national and state art exhibitions and camps in different parts of the country, including the 8th International Art Exhibition (Online). The present exhibition would continue up to 27th December, 2020.
