Bandipora: 3rd Battalion of CRPF organized Civic Action Program on  Monday in interior/remote village Sumlar at Arin Block in Bandipora a bordering sensitive district of J&K.
It is worth mentioning that such large scale CAP addressing the genuine needs of masses was organized first time in this remote location by any of the security forces.
During the time of Covid pandemic when the poor and needy public is facing the problem of regular supply of food items, 3 BN, CRPF took up the challenge and food packets having Grocery items of apprx 12 KGs were distributed including 5 KGs of Rice, 3 KGs flour, One Kg Rajma, 1 Kg sugar, 1Kg salt and 01 liter of edible oil besides items for COVID protection.  In this entire process, it was ensured that the needy and poor people, widows and people Below poverty line, who are really struggling to meet their ends, were provided support on priority by CRPF.
The heads/members of these families were also identified with the help of local BDC and Sarpanch/Panch.  During the program, the large gathering was apprised about the various welfare schemes of the Govt being carrying out for uplifting Poor and needy people. On this occasion, toys, toffee, biscuits etc. were also distributed to the young children.  A large gathering of local villagers were seen with lots of enthusiasm and praising the CRPF team. The Battalion’s Dy Comdt Mr. Arun welcomed visitors and praised the villagers and children’s participation in the program.  The BDC chairman and the local Sarpanch also informed the Battalion Commander Sh. Rakesh  about the local problems, in which the problem of Bridge at Kota Satri was highlighted besides poor road and mobile connectivity. In this context, Commandant has assured the BDC Chairman/Sarpanch and the gathering that he will apprise about the same to the district administration at appropriate level and will extend all support for betterment.  In last, vote of thanks was given by BDC Chairman Jb. Gulam Rasool Khan on behalf of villagers of Sumlar, Kudara, Chuntimulla, Silender, Kota Satri etc.  Sumlar Police Post Incharge Jb. Abdul Quyoom with two Sarpanch of Kudara Jb Abdul Rasheed Khan and Jb Md Shafi Wani of Sumlar with  Panchs of Arin area were also present during the entire program and hailed the good gesture shown by 3 Bn CRPF and wished to continue their  support in goodwill work of CRPF in the area for peace and tranquillity.
