Srinagar: Following the outcry against conduct of online examinations of different courses at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), the establishment on Saturday put all odd semester exams on hold.
In this regard, a notification was issued by the JMI controller of examination.The notification reads, “The Vice Chancellor has very kindly put the odd semester and year end examination on hold in view of the representations from the students regarding their problems and issues with regard to online proctored examination.”
PRO JMI said the University has apprised the University Grants Commission (UGC) of the concerns of the students and the decision of the university regarding mode of examination.
“The directions and the guidelines from the UGC on the matter are sought and still awaited,” he said.
“The University shall take its decision regarding the mode of conduct of examination in consonance with the directions and guidelines received from the UGC on the matter,” the notification reads.
Meanwhile, the establishment had asked the students to continue with their ongoing online classes and shall prepare for the examinations as well.
