Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Saturday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place for ensuing Republic Day celebration 2021.
The meeting was attended by SSP Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Director Floriculture, Joint Director Information, AC Nazool besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Traffic Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Fire services, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, JKRTC and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
The Div com took a comprehensive review of arrangements being made and stressed on better synergy among the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the National event.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on printing of invitation cards, selection of contingents, presentation of variety cultural program, Display of Tableau, Transportation, sanitation and cleanliness and face lifting. The concerned officers were directed to put in place all the requisite arrangements well in advance.
The Divisional Commissioner also sought details of variety cultural program and its duration. He directed the concerned officers early start the rehearsals. He exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day.
The Div Com asked Director School Education and Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages to finalize participants (Students/ Artists) for cultural programme, while BSF, Army, Police, SSB, CRPF, IRP, NCC, Fire and Emergency Services were directed to finalize contingents for the March Past and start rehearsal.
The Cultural Officer School Education department informed that the students (participants) and cultural programme has been finalized and rehearsals have also been started for the same.
JMC was directed to conduct sanitization in and around the venue and install mobile toilets,while Jal Shakti department was directed to ensure uninterrupted water supply and also to ensure barricading at the venue. The JPDCL was directed for installation of lights wherever required and uninterrupted power supply.
The Divisional Commissioner also directed the concerned officers to inspect the venue and ensure cleanliness availability of water, working of taps in washrooms and other amenities.
Information, Hospitality and Protocol departments were directed to make arrangements for PA system, finalisation of commentators, displays, sitting arrangements, decorations of stage. ASP Traffic informed that parking spaces have been identified.
