Bandipora:Forest Protection Force Bandipora thursday seized 50-ft timber being dumped illegally in forest area of Ashtangoo village in north kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official said that after receiving specific inputs they have seized illegal 50 feet timber in forest compartment No 09 at Ashtangoo upper belt of forest block in Bandipora.
Locals alleged that the loot of green gold is rampant in many areas especially in Arin, Dardpora, Kudara areas of Bandipora Forest division. They claimed that the higher ups in forest department have failed to act against the erring looters involved in chopping down green trees.
