Politics Of Deceit in Kashmir: Mir delivering sermons himself it’s parent

Promise to give up politics of deceit is though a good omen for democracy and development in Jammu & Kashmir but when the parents of politics of deceit deliver sermons to their rivals in Jammu & Kashmir, the people are not only pained but also mock at them. Gh Hassan Mir the Senior Vice President of J&K Apni Party and three time former minister of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state though reserves the right to fight against the politics of deceit but he himself having remained a part of the regimes headed by those accused of propagating politics of deceit by him only owes too many explanations to the people represented by him atleast thrice during last 40 years of his political career in the assembly of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. The new definition of the politics of deceit offered by Gh Hassan Mir in his recent statements at election rallies is the promise of the other parties about fight for restoration of statehood and special status to Jammu & Kashmir as it existed on August 4,2019 . So obviously Mir largely accuses the signatories of PAGD (Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration ) and couple of smaller parties of playing politics of deceit by promising fight for restoration of pre-August 5, 2019 position of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. True it is that signatories of PAGD (Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration) have propagated politics of deceit for several decades in the past but he himself has changed many goal posts in short span of few months as leader of the J&K Apni Party since August 5 , 2019 when the erstwhile state was bifurcated into two union territories and special status was withdrawn to it .

Shockingly Mir promising democracy and development has been part of the regimes installed and pulled down by the previous Congress controlled central governments through proxies during last forty years of his political career and his defeat in the 2014 J&K assembly elections against Abbas Wani of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) was a vote against his lackadaisical  approach on  his own promises concerning execution of developmental plans in his own home constituency. By dint of his actions, Mir like Abdullahs’, Muftis’ and others carries a huge baggage of the politics of deceit on his shoulders and as such ceases the moral right to deliver sermons of politics of deceit to his political rival in election time.

Fact remains that Mir and his associates are themselves suffering from the crisis of credibility not only because of their association with the previous regimes of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state but due to their failures as the founders of J&K Apni Party on promises over 25 year’s qualifying period for domiciles, protection of J&K residents in new land laws and accommodation and adjustment of the concerns of J&K residents in the execution of proposed new delimitation plan for assembly and parliamentary constituencies.
