Srinagar: The President of India Tuesday appointed senior-most judge, Justice Rajesh Bindal as acting chief justice of the common high court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
In an orderthe Central Government ordered that Justice Rajesh Bindal will perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the High Court from December 9, consequent upon the retirement of Kumari Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice, common High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladhak.
“In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Rajesh Bindal, senior-most Judge of Common High Court for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh,” reads the order. The order further states that he will perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the High Court with effect from December 9
