DDC polls: Two more employees suspended for campaigning, violating MCC in Kupwara

Kupwara: District administration Kupwara on Tuesday put two more employees under suspension for ‘violating’ Model Code of Conduct (MCC), enforced in view of ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections.
According to reports a beat guard of Forest department and Junior health inspector has been put under suspension and has been attached to different offices for allegedly campaigning and violating the MCC norms enforced last month.
An order copy issued here reads that “allegations have been levelled against Khursheed Ahmad Khan Beat Guard posted at Daroosa Beat regarding participation in election related activities.”
It also reads the involvement of the official in election campaigning, as maintained by the order, is clear violation of Model Code of Conduct which deserves punitive action as warranted under law.
The order furtherreads, “Keeping in view of above (allegations) Shri Khursheed Ahmad Beat Guard (Forest Guard) at Dorusa is hereby placed under suspension and is attached with DFO Social Forestry Kupwara with immediate effect who shall conduct the enquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed report to the office within 15 days”, the order reads further.
A suspension order of healt employee also reads that Mohammed Shafi War, working in Health Department as Junior Health Inspector ‘is involved for campaigning DDC and Panchayat Bye-election.’
“The involvement of the said official in election campaigning is clear violation of Model Code of Conduct which deserves punitive action as warranted under law.”
“Keeping in view of above (allegations) Mohammed Shafi War is hereby placed under suspension and is attached with District Tuberclosis Officer Kupwara with immediate effect who shall conduct the enquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed report to the office within 15 days”, the order reads further.
Meanwhile several employees had also put under suspension by DEO Kupwara for campaigning and violating MCC.
Earlier government has issued order in which government employees were asked to stay away from Election Campaigning.
