Jammu: A series of public outreach events were held today in the districts of Jammu division under the weekly Block Diwas program. The district administration teams listened to the people’s issues and provided various services to the people.
At Doda : The Block Diwas events were held at the designated locations in Doda, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Thathri and Assar which witnessed active participation of locals from across the seventeen blocks of the district. The departmental teams along with the frontline field functionaries delivered varied services to the people and listened to their grievances. As many as 58 grievances/applications were received during the program and all of them were redressed by the officer’s/officials of respective departments on the spot, besides several services which includes 23 category certificates, 157 Domicile certificates and 13 revenue papers were also provided to the people on spot.
At Kathua: District Development Commissioner Kathua, Om Prakash Bhagat presided over Block Diwas proceedings at block Mahreen. The DDC passed on the spot directions to the concerned to take necessary steps to mitigate the projected problems and grievances of the people within stipulated time. The Block diwas proceedings were also held at designated locations in Basohli, Bani, Hiranagar and Billawar blocks, where people from adjoining blocks also participated.
In Kishtwar: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Kumar Sharma presided over the weekly block Divas at the block headquarter Nagseni in presence of a team of district administration. During the programme PRIs apprised the DDC about various demands and grievances. The DDC redressed many grievances on spot and documented the rest for forwarding to the concerned quarters for immediate redressal. He also reviewed the progress in the redressal of the grievances raised in the previous Block Divas programs.
