Baramullah: Kashmir is the land of mystic charms and pristine valleys which casts a magical spell on those who visit Kashmir.
Gulmarg is one such Picturesque tourist destination which has always attracted local and international tourists every year. However the youth and children of remote areas along Line of Control in Boniyar Tehsil remain oblivious to the serenity and infrastructural development at Gulmarg.
Thus Torna Battalion under the aegis of Pir Panjal Brigade organised an Adventure cum Educational trip for the students of the border villages of Boniyar Tehsil. The ietenery included visit to the museum of High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) of Indian Army as well as Gandola and ATV rides at Gulmarg.
Twenty five students along with teaching staff volunteered to join the trip which was flagged off from Boniyar on 02 Dec 20.
The students were enthralled on their maiden visit to any Army Training Institute wherein the training demonstration by the staff of HAWS fascinated the young minds. On reaching Gulmarg the students were captivated by the natural beauty of Gulmarg and the excitement levels of the students hit it’s crescendo during the Gandola and ATV rides, which they enjoyed thoroughly.
Having experienced the beautiful landscape and adventure potential of Gulmarg along with display of High Altitude combat skills of Indian Army the student trip culminated at Boniyar.
During reception ceremony the students and their guardians expressed their gratitude towards Army for such initiatives. They were sanguine to the fact that these endeavours of the Army would broaden the intellectual horizons of their wards and motivate them to become responsible and contributing members of the society inturn shaping their future in Positive manner.
