Srinagar Police arrests drug peddler, psychotropic substance recovered

Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Monday said “ officers at a check point established at Budshah Chowk Srinagar intercepted a person identified as Abid Bashir Tantray resident of Khanyar Srinagar”, adding that “during checking, officers were able to recover 600 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon plus from his possession”.
Police in it’s statement further said that the identified person was arrested and shifted to Police Station Maisuma where he remains in custody. “A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Maisuma and investigation has been initiated”, the statement reads, adding that “ people are appealed to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and the people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law”.
Police in it’s statement reiterated that it will continue it’s consistent actions against drug peddlers to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
