32,135 voters to exercise franchise in Phase-II at G’bal

G’bal: According to the District Panchayat Election Officer, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, 32135 voters shall exercise their franchise for the Phase-II of elections being held on December 01, 2020 for Kangan A, B and C DDC constituencies and vacant seats of Panchs and Sarpanchs.
The DPEO informed that a total of 171 polling stations are established for 26 Panchayats, 3 DDC constituencies and as many as 194 Candidates are in fray which include 27 candidates for DDC, 13 for Sarpanch and 154 for Panch seats in 26 vacant Panchayats of Kangan.
On the occasion, the DPEO emphasized upon the Polling and other officers designated with the election duty to work with utmost dedication and devotion for successful completion of polls and stressed upon timely update of issues if any and submission of desired information well in time.
He also directed that all the SOPs and guidelines related to COVID-19 are followed during elections to avoid the risk of infection.
Pertinently all essential facilities at polling stations, transportation arrangements, facilities related to COVID-19 are already put in place by the district administration for the smooth conduct of elections in the district.
The DPEO appealed to the general public of the district to actively participate in the election process and make it a grand success for strengthening grass root level democracy.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of District Panchayat Election Officer, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, the polling parties for District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat bye-elections for Phase-2nd were dispatched to their polling stations along with election material and Ballot Boxes amidst heavy security from Govt. Degree College Kangan (Distribution cum Collection center for Phase-2nd) here Monday.
Among others, SSP Ganderbal, ADC Ganderbal, Election Observer for DDC and Panchayat by-election, SDM Kangan, concerned ROs, AROs, Nodal Officers and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
