Tribute paid to literary icon Late Assad- ullah- Afaqi

Chrar i Sharif: Glowing tributes were offered on Saturday to noted poet and writer, Baba Assad-ullah-Afaqi on his 7th death anniversary in an on line cultural event . The event / programme was organized by Kashmir Market Adab-wo-Sahafat, Chrari- Sharif in coordination with Life Foundation.
The programme was presided over by Head,Markazi Noor, Kashmir University , Professor G N Khakhi. Professor Bashar Bashir was the chief guest whereas prominent poet Ghulaam Hassan Talib was guest of honour on the occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by the secretary, kashmir Markaz Adab-wo-Sahafat Anayat Gul in his unique professional way.
Prominent writers who presented rich tribute to Late Assad-ullah-Afaqi included President, Markaz Adab-wo-Sahafat and prominent Poet, Dr. Gazanfar Ali Gazal, Media Advisor, Kashmir Markaz Adab-wo-Sahafat, Mushtaq Mehram , noted writers and poets Gh Nabi Adfar, Nissar Dildar, Ali Ahsan and patron Life Foundation, Baba Nazar -Ul- Islam.
Professor Khakhi while paying tribute to Late Afaqi assured that Markazi Noor, Kashmir university with leave no stone unturned to unravel the life and contribution of Shielh -ul-Alam.
In his tribute, Professor Bashar Bashir eulogised contribution of Assad-ullah Afaqi in unfolding multifaceted dimensions of the life of Hazrat Shielh Noorul Din-Noorani (RA) . He said Afaqi sb in his literary works emphasised how Sheikh used poetry as a vehicle to spread the word of Allah to common masses in their own language and tone. ” His in depth study on Shekhul Alam and his life would provide guidance to the researcher scholars for long long ago. Mushtaq Mehram while paying rich tribute to Afaqi sb highlighted his dynamic role as a social reformer. Farooq Wani said that works of Late Afaqi introduced poetry of sufi saint Shiekh -ul-Alam at global level. Nazar-ul- Islam presented vote of thanks .
