Srinagar: Police on Thursday distributed necessary items, COVID-19 safety kits to the poor and needy families in Baramulla and Awantipora.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said “in Baramulla, the distribution function was held by SSP Baramulla Ab. Qayoom in presence of SDPO Uri and other senior officers at Chandanwari”. SSP Baramulla, the statement said, distributed COVID-19 kits comprising of face shield, N-95 masks, ordinary masks, oximeter, digital thermometer, sanitizer bottles, hand gloves Detol soaps and other essential items among 100 BPL families falling under the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Uri of District Baramulla.
Speaking the occasion, SSP Baramulla, according to the statement, said that there is a need for sensitising the society of its responsibilities towards COVID-19 particularly the needy and poor families, saying, police is always there for any help for the poor and needy people and this process will remain continue in all the sub-Divisions of District Baramulla.
Similarly, Awantipora police, according to the statement, held distribution functions at Police Station Pampore and Police Station Khrew. These functions were held by SDPO Pampore along with SHO Pampore and SHO Khrew in which essential items, Covid-19 safety kits were distributed among poor and needy people of these areas.
