Kupwara: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg Thursday convened a meeting of engineers of Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to review the power scenario of the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues to ensure a smooth supply of power in the district.
The DDC directed the concerned engineers to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and ensure its mass publicity. He instructed them that people should be informed in case there is any change regarding unscheduled power cuts duly authorized by SE concerned.
The DDC also directed the concerned to keep local administration informed about the raids, seizures, penalties, collection of fee dues and maintain close liaison with concerned Tehsildars to avoid any crisis.
On the occasion, the DDC also reviewed the power scenario of border areas of Machil, Keran, and Karnah and it was informed that the Keran line is functioning normally, while the Machil area is being provided 04-hour power supply including 03 hours in the evening and 01 hour in the morning.
The Executive Engineer informed the meeting that 12-hour power supply is being provided in metered areas and 08 hour supply is being provided in non-metered areas. It was also informed that sufficient buffer stock of transformers is available in the district.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Superintending Engineer (SE) Electric were present in the meeting.
