Ang: According to the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Anantnag, 11 candidates have withdrawn their nominations for phase-IV of upcoming District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat and ULB by-elections for Verinag and Shahabad blocks besides, Municipal Committee Dooru Verinag on the last date (23 November 2020) for withdrawal of candidature.
These 11 withdrawals include 2 for DDC seats, 3 for Sarpanch, 4 for Panch, and 2 for ULB vacancies. Thus a total of 129 candidates are in the fray for the polls scheduled to be held on 07 December 2020 wherever it is necessary.
