ACB produces chargesheet against Ex CEO Jammu, beneficiaries, others in illegal selection of class IV employees

Jammu: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has presented a chargesheet in case FIR No. 30/2014 U/S 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K PC Act 2006 and 120-B, 466, 468 and 471 RPC.P/S VOJ (now ACB) against Tarsem Lal S/o Late Kartar Chand R/o H. No. 346, Digiana Jammu the then CEO Jammu (now retired), Surinder Kumar S/o Late Kartar Chand R/o H. No. 138, Ward No. 01, Kashmiri Mohalla Akhnoor the then I/C ZEO Khour, Raj Kumar Gupta S/o Sh. Parma Nand Gupta R/o H. No. 145 Kalli Janni, Jammu the then Master, Hr. Sec. School R.S Pura, 4. Bharat Bhushan S/o Late Sh. Dharam Chand R/o Village Sagoon, P.O Surinsar Tehsil and District Jammu the then Master, in the office of CEO Jammu, Sudesh Kumar S/o Thorho Ram R/o Pindi Sarochian R.S.Pura Jammu the then Master GHS Dablalrh, and 34 beneficiaries in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu.
The ACB in a statement issued on Tuesday said that the accused public servant by way of forgery, tampering of record, fraudulent increase of academic and interview marks, acceptance of Application Forms after due date, finally managed selection of 34 candidates as class-IV employees. Saying that the selection of the candidates was done in an unfair, arbitrary and illegal manner by sheer abuse of their official position in order to confer undue benefit upon these 34 illegal beneficiaries, the ACB in it’s statement said ” the accused CEO under well knit conspiracy with co-accused public servants and beneficiaries by abuse of their authority helped the accused beneficiaries in getting qualified by managing insertion in their records”.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau in it’s statement also said that after obtaining sanction for launching prosecution against an in service public servant from the Government, submitted the charge sheet of the case as envisaged U/S 173 Cr.PC against the above said accused persons produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu for judicial determination. The next date of hearing has been fixed on December 4 this year.
