Srinagar/Nov,22: Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has alleged inadequate security measures by the government for the candidates of ongoing DDC and Panchayat elections in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. ” What prompted government to announce elections in Jammu and Kashmir so hurriedly, without taking stakeholders on board , when it was not ready to cope up with the prevailing security scenario, ” Hakeem Yaseen observed.
Addressing party workers of Kachwari and Chell -Braath villages in Khansahib constituency on Sunday , Hakeem alleged that candidates in fray for DDC and Panchayat elections have not been provided adequate security cover and thier activities have been confined to security zones, far far away from thier respective localities, on the pretext of security cover to them. He said restricting activities of candidates to security zones has made the entire election process in jammu and Kashmir a mockery to democracy. He has demanded foolproof security to the candidates at thier respective localities so that they can move around for canvassing among thier electorate.
PDF Chairman called upon the people to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in favour of honest and secular minded candidates . He has urged the need to reject communal and divisive forces from the political scene of jammu and kashmir adding that designs of disruptive elements shall have to be defeated at any cost. He said jammu and kashmir can not afford to sustain without communal harmony and brotherhood which is the hallmark of our composite culture and ethos. He has called for a united fight against anti kashmiri parties who are hellbent upon disintegration of Jammu and Kashmir by exploiting religious and regional sentiments of people.
Hakeem assured the people that his party will religiously work towards restoration of special status of jammu and kashmir as a sacred mission.
