Srinagar: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has enjoined upon the electorate to exercise their franchise in a big way to defeat divisive and communal forces in the ongoing DDC and Panchayat Bye elections in Jammu and Kashmir . He said though these elections were no alternate to assembly elections but participation in BDC elections was imperative to isolate communal elements who have posed a serious threat to Jammu and Kashmir’s centuries old traditions of brotherhood, communal harmony and secular credentials.
Addressing a meeting of the PDF workers on Saturday, Hakeem Yaseen said that nefarious designs of divisive and communal forces have posed a serious threat to secular credentials of the country including Jammu and Kashmir adding that onus lies on peace loving people to give them befitting reply by inflicting a crushing defeat to them in the ongoing DDC and Panchayat elections. He enjoined upon the people to participate in DDC and Panchayat elections in a big way if they were really serious to eradicate the politics of hatered and division.
On this occasion a number of prominent social and political personalities joined PDF who were warmly welcomed by Chairman, Hakeem in the party fold. These included Adv. Rayees Ahmad Wani R/O Pakherpora, Ms Ulfat Jan, Block Nagam, Ms Yasmin Jan R/O Chadoora and Ms Masarat Jan. They were given mandate as PDF candidates for DDC elections in district Budgam.
PDF Chairman said that it was high time for secular and peace loving people especially social and political parties to rise above their individual and party affiliations and jointly give a tough fight to the forces who were hell bent to divide community by exploiting religious and regional sentiments of innocent people.
Hakeem reiterated his parties resolve to fight for restoration of statehood to Jammu and kashmir and seek constitutional guarantees for domicile right on land and employment. ” Come what may, no one will be allowed to put Jammu , Kashmir and Ladakh for sale to outsiders. ” PDF Chairman reiterated. He said his party was ready to offer any sacrifice for protecting identity, integrity and honour of Jammu and Kashmir and it’s people. He said PDF would extend its full support and cooperation to any other party that works for protection of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
