Div Com (J) reviews republic day arrangements

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Saturday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place for the Republic Day celebration- 2021.
Among others, Director School Education Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Director Information besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Traffic Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Fire services, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, JKRTC and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
The Div com took a comprehensive review of arrangements being made and stressed on close synergy among the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the National event.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on printing of invitation cards, selection of contingents, cultural Items, Display of Tableau, Transportation, sanitation and cleanliness, face lifting and the concerned officers were directed to put in place requisite arrangements for smooth conduct of celebration.
The Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day.
The Div Com asked Director School Education and Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages to finalize participants (Students/ Artists) for cultural items while BSF, Army, Police were directed to initiate the process of selecting contingents and start rehearsals of contingents, for the event.
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was directed for sanitization of the venue and the surrounding with facility of mobile toilets, while Jal Shakti department was directed to ensure uninterrupted water supply and also to ensure barricading at the venue. JPDCL was directed for installation of lights where required and uninterrupted power supply.
Necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for selection of contingents, cultural programmes, rehearsals, transportation facilities for participants, traffic management, security, dare devils, refreshment, installation of screens/LEDs, illumination of Government buildings and other important arrangements for smooth conduct of the event.
