Kulgam: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat Saturday chaired a meeting to take stock of arrangements for smooth conduct of Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Simnani (RA), here.
During the meeting, the DDC directed PHE and PDD departments to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the town and vicinity areas during the Urs days.
Regarding medical facilities, the department of health was directed to establish medical camps at the Shrine area.
Emphasizing on the need for pre and post Urs sanitation drives, the DDC directed the Executive Officer, Municipality, Kulgam to intensify the cleanliness drive with the focus on roads, lanes, drains, besides regular lifting of garbage/wastage from all identified spots.
The DDC directed the concerned officers and Auqaf Committee to ensure strict adherence to SOPs and guidelines in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting among others was attended by ADDC, ADC, ARTO, Tehsildar Kulgam, DSP Headquarter, EO, Municipality Kulgam, besides representatives of Auqaf Committee attended the meeting.
