DDC elections: DPEO Reasi reviews preparedness for counting, collection, distribution of election material

Reasi: The preparedness for distribution, collection and counting of votes for District Development Council elections and Panchayat by Poll was Thursday reviewed by District Panchayat Election Officer, Indu Kanwal Chib, here at a meeting of the concerned officers.
The DPEO asked the concerned officer of Jal Shakti Department and PDD to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply in the strong rooms and counting centres especially on the day of counting of votes. She asked the concerned officer of PWD to provide necessary material and furniture in these centres. The Chief Medical Officer was asked to keep available the personal protection kits for the counting staff.
The DPEO directed all the designated officers to perform their duties with utmost dedication during elections and advised them to work in an impartial manner and implement MCC and other guidelines of Election Commission in letter and spirit.
Later, the DPEO paid a visit to Government Polytechnic Reasi which has been designated as counting and collection centre. She directed the concerned officers to formulate an apt plan for counting of votes -keeping in view the COVID19 precautions.
DPEO was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rashmi Wazir; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Kumar Sharma; Additional SP, Surjit Bhagat; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sanjay Badhyal; Deputy District Election Officer, Zakir Wani; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti Department, PDD and PWD.
