67th Coop Week celebrated at B’gam, B’pora & Kupwara

Srinagar: The Cooperative Department offices of various districts Thursday organised day-long programmes to celebrate 67th ‘All India Cooperative Week’ themed ‘Cooperatives for Yoh, Women and Weaker sections’.
On the occasion, the concerned officers unfurled the cooperative flag to mark the celebrations. They also highlighted the achievements made by the district cooperatives during the current financial year.
At Budgam: District Cooperative Department organized a day-long programme at District Headquarter Budgam to mark the celebrations of the Cooperatives week. On the occasion Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Societies Budgam, Javeed Ahmad Bagwhan unfurled the cooperative flag to mark the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Registrar urged upon the members to run societies more efficiently for more social and economic development of the rural population. He said it is our endeavor to provide better services to the rural population as well as urban population in the way of distribution of consumer, fertilizer and other essential commodities. He emphasized on the general public to come forward to join the societies with the Cooperative department for better progress and economic growth. The function among others was attended by the departmental officers/officials, a large number of elected managing committee members, Cooperators and eminent citizens and institutional employees.

At Bandipora: The District Cooperative department organised a function to celebrate cooperative week during which Additional Registrar Kashmir Mohammad Yousuf Mir unfurled the departmental flag and interacted with the members of cooperative societies of the district. Speaking on the occasion, Mir highlighted the success stories of the cooperative societies and urged the members to work religiously to make the cooperative movement a grand success. He said there are four cooperative blocks in the district with 17 fully functional societies having 23043 members. It was given o that all the functional cooperative societies are running on profit and the cooperative societies have played a major role in supplying 16,000 poultry birds to the market thus acting as a major contributor, to meet the local demand. Deputy Registrar Bandipora Mushtaq Ahmad Malik highlighted the role of Cooperative in the Socio-economic upliftment, he also emphasised on the need for formation of new Cooperative in different fields by involving more and more unemployed educated youth. The function among others was attended by Depy Registrar Bandipora Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Assistant Registrar Bandipora Mushtaq Ahmad Zakki, Departmental Officer/officials, large number of elected Managing Committee members, Cooperators and eminent citizens and institutional employees.
At Kupwara: An impressive function was organised here Thursday at the district headquarter to celebrate the Cooperative Week. The function was presided over by Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives, Kupwara. He on the occasion impressed upon all the stakeholders to work hard for revitalizing the vast infrastructure of cooperative societies and generate maximum avenues for the employment of unemployed educated youth. The other speakers enlightened the fundamentals of the cooperative movement and its essence in the present scenario. Special emphasis was given to persuade the educated youth, women and people from weaker sections to join the fold of cooperatives for earning their livelihood in multiple diversified sectors. Among others, Cooperators, managing committee members, office bearers and employees of various Cooperative Societies participated in the function.
