Home Minister’s unwanted remark

Home Minister Amit Shah calling J&K “Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration”- PAGD “Gupkar Gang” only shows his political fanaticism as otherwise the political leaders should show no provocation against the formation of alliances for elections. If at all the allegations of Home Minister against the PAGD leaders concerning security and integrity of the country are to be believed, he only himself being the home minister of the country is morally, institutionally, constitutionally and administratively obliged to substantiate his allegations with evidences. Otherwise the Home Minister’s wild allegations against the PAGD leaders are highly reprehensible and condemnable as political decency demands that such wild allegations are not leveled by the second top helmsman of the country against the leaders who have headed popular governments of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state in the past. The Home Minister’s allegations have one way or the other generated an impression both in Jammu & Kashmir and as well as in other parts of the country that even his own political proxies with the tacit support of his party have failed to throw up any bigger challenge to the traditional parties contesting elections under the banner of a recently launched Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). The timing choosen by the Home Minister for making his maiden provocative statement against PAGD leaders after their release from several months of detention shows that the incumbent Narendra Modi controlled central government is very concerned about the fate of the BJP candidates and it’s political proxies even in the upcoming DDC elections in Jammu & Kashmir. Since all previous central governments including the one headed by Attal Bihari Vajpayee and the other by incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi have acknowledged the representative political character of all the parties that have cobbled together to launch “Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration”-PAGD not once but time and again, the Home Minister of the country should not have called the six party J&K alliance “Gupkar Gang” without rhyme or reason.

Political wisdom demands that the top helmsmen of the incumbent central government give up the policy of political fanaticism and  instead encourage  politics of reconciliations to facilitate early return of political stability, peace and democracy to Jammu & Kashmir.

The provocative remarks of the Home Minister by all standards of understandabilities won’t reduce the intensity of the boiling public sentiments in either Kashmir valley or Jammu region generated in all the three regions of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state (Kashmir, Jammu and Ladhak) by last year’s August 5 decisions. Not provocations but reconciliation can bring peace, political stability and democracy to Jammu & Kashmir. Political wisdom demands that the top helmsmen of the incumbent central government give up the policy of political fanaticism and instead encourage politics of reconciliations to facilitate early return of political stability, peace and democracy to Jammu & Kashmir.
