DPEO Bandipora reviews election preparedness

Bandipora: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday presided over a meeting of officers convened to review the preparedness and implementation of guidelines issued by the Election Authorities for the District Development Council elections and Panchayat and ULB by- polls.
The meeting discussed threadbare the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of elections including accessibility, telecom connectivity, infrastructure, law and order vulnerability and other related issues.
Transport plan, communication plan, training plan, printing of ballot papers etc. were also discussed and necessary instructions were passed for smooth, free and fair conduct of elections. The DPEO asked the officers to be well prepared for this most challenging task.
The meeting further discussed in detail the modalities for the dispatch of polling parties, logistics and election material in far flung areas.
DPEO Bandipora also asked the officers to ensure implementation of MCC, and other guidelines, besides taking other measures to ensure smooth conduct of the elections in the district like the security of the contesting candidates, establishment of counting centres etc.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rashid, District Information Officer Jahangeer Akhoon, District Industries Officer Mehraj Wani and other election Nodal Officers were present on the occasion.
