Bandipora: The residents of several villages in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District have called for attention of government towards the growing attacks of Monkeys on populatiom .
Locals say monkeys have wreaked havoc by damaging their orchards. “Monkeys are breaking into their homes rummaging stuff and stealing food,” they said.
The residents are also concerned about their kids as many have been injured in the past in such attacks. “We are concerned about safety of our children,” said Mohammad Hafeez Lone ,a resident of Ayathmulla.
The residents of villages like Ayathmulla, Chekreshipora, Arampora and Ahamsharief, which fall in close vicinity of the forests, said the issue was brought into the notice of Wildlife officials but to no avail and the authorities have completely failed to do anything concrete to help this issue be brought into control,” said another local Mudasir Ahmad.
The villagers have threatned agitation against wild life authorities and District administration if the menance is not crubed any sooner.
