JKIFTS organizes “Virtual Awards Ceremony” for published authors

Srinagar: In one of its kind and for the first time in J & K, Jammu and Kashmir Innovative Foundation For Transforming Society(JKIFTS) organised a “Virtual Awards Ceremony” for published authors in Jammu and Kashmir.

The virtual ceremony was hosted by Chief Coordinator cum Head of JKIFTS council of writers, Mushtaque B Barq and managed by Senior Executive member of JKIFTS, Syed Mujtaba. The guest on the occasion was Chairman cum Director JKIFTS, Dr. Tasaduk Hussain Itoo.

During the ceremony various young published authors from Jammu and Kashmir were virtually awarded “certificates of appreciation” and they(authors)shared experiences of their writing journey.

The authors who were awarded include Sheikh Shabir(senior member of JKIFTS columnists council) for book titled “The Sun Under Clouds” , Rubayata Umeed for two books titled “Wizards X Beasts” and “Zero: Dream Football Alfresco” , Azra Mufti for “Tearful Pages” and “Shattered Dreams” , Faheem Ul Islam for “The Midnight Silence”, Ravia Gupta from Jammu for multiple “Research Papers in Journalism” published in reputed peer-reviewed international journals , among other authors for their published books.

While sharing her experiences Ravia Gupta advised the youth of Jammu particularly to read alot as it is very important to read to be able to write well and thus be able to articulate your well read thoughts and communicate them effectively at various levels. “This way the youth can be sure of creating a voice which is not just heard but also make a difference not just for themselves but others too”, she said.

Rubayata Umeed, a 16 years old youngest author from Kashmir, a student of Class 11th while sharing her experiences stresses on pursuing her passion and want to be known by her own work and to make her own identity and this is the message she conveyed to other young children also.

Director JKIFTS Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo while congratulating the published authors and speaking on the occasion said that young brilliant minds always amuse the hearts of people with their enlightening talent and shape the society through authoring and publishing of worthy books.

He said that JKIFTS, as an organization believes that Jammu and Kashmir is blessed with lot of young talent and it has been our continuous effort and mission to bring first of its kind innovative initiatives in place to acknowledge, encourage and explore this talent to the outer world.

The award ceremony was attended by various members of JKIFTS and the Vote of Thanks was presented by Chief Coordinator, Mushtaque B Barq.
