D&FCO Anantnag acts tough against the violators off D&C Act-1940

Ang: Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag/ Kulgam Night Jabeen along with a team of Officers and officials has launched a campaign to deal with the sale of substandard drugs, unlicensed medical shops and against sale of substandard life saving drugs in twin districts of Anantnag and Kulgam.
The team has been conducting continuous inspections and during the last week, it has recommended the cancellation of more than 35 licenses and specific attention is being given to prosecute the violators.
The efforts to crackdown on the substandard drug sellers have laid to the conviction of M/S “Eaton Laboratories” Zainakote Srinagar who has been penalised Rs.40000 for only manufacturing substandard quality drug namely ‘Amlo A’ and M/S Dr. Edwin labs Punjab with a penalty of Rs.4 lac and imprisonment for manufacturing of substandard mouthwash namely ‘Hexawin’.
These conventions/Judgements have sent a strong message to the pharma fraternity that the Drug Control Department will not bear any kind of violation with respect to quality of drugs.
