Srinagar/Nov,14:- Chairman People’s Democratic Front(PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Saturday A meeting of the core group of People’s Democratic Front( PDF) on Saturday called upon people of Jammu and Kashmir to defeat machinations of the communal forces and announced the candidature of Javaid Beigh for upcoming DDC elections from Beerwah area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
held threadbare discussions on the prevailing political scenario in jammu and kashmir with special reference to the ongoing DDC and panchayat elections.
Addressing a meeting of PDF workers of Budgam district called by him in Srinagar to review preparedness of PDF for the forthcoming DDC and Panchayat elections in jammu and kashmi Hakeem said that PDF has unanimously decided to field Javed Ahmad Baigh a prominent social activist of Beerwa town of Central district Budgam for the district development council Budgam . On this occasion, Javed Ahmed Baigh along with his associates and followers formally joined PDF. The youth of the area especially the PDF workers extended thier fully support to Javed Ahmed Baigh and resolved to work for his grand success in the DDC elections. Hakeem told his party workers present at the meeting that participation in DDC elections in the prevailing political scenario of Jammu was all the more essential to keep divisive and communal forces at bay. He appealed the people to vote for PDF candidates to defeat the nefarious designs of vested interests to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of religion and region. He said these elections were also important for ensuring equitable and need based development at the grass roots”. Asserting that it was high time for peace loving people to join hands for protecting the secular credentials of Jammu and Kashmir from the onslaught of fringe and communal elements, PDF Chairman cautioned the people against the machinations of divisive forces who he said are all out to disintegrate Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on the basis of communal and regional considerations. He said if secular minded people failed to check the growing activities of communal forces at this crucial juncture, the posterity will not forgive us.
Hakeem asked the people to rise above thier individual afflictions and ideologies and work in unison to defeat divisive forces. He said secularism , communal harmony and brotherhood are the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir’s pluralistic and composite character which has to be safeguarded at all costs.
PDF Chairman also reiterated his Party’s resolve to work for the restoration of the special status of Jammu and kashmir and protection of the domicile rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with focus on safeguards over rights on land and employment.
