F&DA inspects Food processing units in Jammu ahead of Diwali

Jammu: Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration, J&K, Shakeel-Ur-Rehman along with team of Officers of Intelligence cum Legal Cell and Food Safety Officers today conducted surprise inspection of several food processing units in Jammu citu to check the quality of their products in view of the ongoing festival season.
The team inspected the establishments dealing with sweets / Milk and milk products, Oils, spices including Pahalwan manufacturing House, Sanjay Nagar; Kwality Manufacturing House, Canal Road; Mahajan Manufacturing House, Canal Road; Kailash Industry, Gangyal; Surya Milk Product, Gangyal; J&K Milk Producer Cooperative Ltd, Satwari; JK Oil Industry, Gangyal and issued on the spot instructions to the concerned FBOs for their further improvements.
During the inspection, the concerned enforcement staff lifted samples of various food items viz. Khoya, Peda, Toda Burfi, Cake, Coconut Burfi, Mustard Oil, Blended edible Oil, Derau Atta, Haldi Powder, Chilli Powder, skimmed Milk Powder, Water, Masala etc from the said manufacturing units for testing / analysis.
Meanwhile, the concerned enforcement staff was instructed to take cognizance against the manufacturing unit which are carrying out their activities under unhygienic condition as per provision laid down under the FSS Act and Rules made there under.
The F&DA has appealed the general Public to procure food item under proper invoice and file a complaint at complaintsdfcoggmail.corn /[email protected] in case of with regard to poor quality of any food item.
