Police move offices resume functioning in Jammu

Jammu: Police Headquarters and other move offices of J&K Police started functioning from Jammu Monday. On the opening day the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh inspected various sections of Police Headquarters, and visited Armed Police Headquarters, Crime Headquarters J&K and ZPHQ Jammu.
After visiting the Police Memorial at Rail Head Complex in the morning where he paid homage to the martyrs, the DGP came to Police Headquarters complex. He was received by senior police officers and was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of armed police. The DGP held meeting of senior police officers at PHQ and discussed various matters.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has a glorious track record of professional work and meeting all the challenges with fortitude. He said that the law/ order and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved and the good work with zeal and commitment must continue. He stressed for keeping close watch on the elements inimical to peace. All field officers were asked to work out effective security arrangements for upcoming panchayat and BDC/DDC polls.
The DGP emphasized optimum utilization of resources for enhancing the capabilities and capacities of different wings. He said that steps have to be taken to enhance the working of Police Workshops, Police hospitals to deliver better services to men and machinery. The DGP discussed different matters pertaining to various wings of Police and enquired about the progress on different ongoing projects.
Expressing his satisfaction over the professional working of all wings during the past six months, the DGP said that efforts need to be followed continuously to bring more efficiency in day-to-day working. He said that quick disposal of the matters related to the strengthening of subordinate units should be ensured at all levels which would help bringing further improvements in their working also. He directed all units/wings of Police J&K to complete DPCs in respect of lower subordinates.
While visiting different sections of the Police Headquarters and Armed Police Headquarters, the DGP interacted with the police personnel. He sought updates from the officers and personnel on different tasks and also advised them to work for fast deliverance. He stressed upon the personnel to render their duties with zeal, enthusiasm and dedication.
The meeting at PHQ was attended by ADGP (Armed) A.K. Choudhary, ADGP Railways, MD PHC Deepak Kumar, ADGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Law & Order A. G. Mir, IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, IGP (Hqrs.) PHQ Garib Dass, SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil, AIGs of PHQ, SSP PCR Kulbir Singh, Commandants of Jammu based armed/IRP battalions and other officers.
The DGP later visited Crime Headquarters, J&K and Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu and chaired officers meeting in which he took stock of the security situation in Jammu region, preparedness for Block Development Council (BDC) elections, situation on the borders, security of vital installations, and winter preparedness. The DGP while reviewing security arrangements for the upcoming Panchayat, Block/Distt. Development Council elections sought the feedback from the jurisdictional officers.At the outset the IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh gave a detailed briefing of the security situation and working of the Police personnel in the Jammu zone.The meeting was attended by IGP Crime M. K. Sinha, DIG JSK/RP range Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil, SSP Crime Jammu Shalinder Singh, SSP Traffic Jammu Shiv Kumar and other jurisdictional officers.
