Notification issued for Phase-I & Phase-II of DDC polls in Ganderbal

Srinagar: The District Panchayat Election Officer on Sunday issued notification for Phase-I and Phase-II of District Development Council (DDC) elections in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.

Meanwhile, notification was on Sunday also issued for bye-election to be held for vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats in Ganderbal.

An official spokesperson said that District Panchayat Election Officer, Ganderbal (Deputy Commissioner), Shafqat Iqbal today issued notification for DDC constituencies — Gund A and Gund B as well as Bye-Election for the vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats falling in these constituencies for phase-I.

“As per the notification, the last date for submission of nomination forms is November 12 while scrutiny of nomination papers shall be held on November 13. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 16 and date polling shall be on November 28,” he said.

Similarly, he said another notification  for District Development Council constituencies  Kangan A, Kangan B and Kangan C as well as by-Election for the vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats falling in these constituencies for phase-II has been also issued.

“As per the notification, the last date for submission of nomination forms is November 16 while scrutiny of nomination papers shall be held on November 17. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 19 and polling shall be held on December 1,” he said.

According to the notifications, he said nomination papers can be obtained free of cost from the concerned Returning Officers/ Assistant Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officer Headquarter.

“The Duly Filled in Nomination Papers shall have to be submitted in the Office of the concerned Returning Officer/ his designated Assistant Returning Officers (or) Assistant Returning Officer, Headquarter (Assistant Director, Handloom, Room No 324 Mini Secretariat Complex, Ganderbal,” he added.
