Samba: To ensure smooth conduct of upcoming elections of District Development Councils, by-polls to Panchayat and Urban Local bodies (ULBs) in Samba, training was imparted to the designated Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) here Thursday.
Chairing the preliminary training session, the District Election Officer, Rohit Khajuria passed on instructions to AROs and ROs with regard to their duties and responsibilities during the election process and stressed upon them to get best results at ground level. He asked election officers to stay vigilant and prompt to their duties and maintain close coordination with District Election officer for timely dissemination of important notifications.
The DEO directed all the participants to go through the election handbook manual thoroughly for attaining complete knowledge about the conduct of smooth Elections. He also informed that Election phases, date of notification, Date of Security, Dates of polling and counting of votes has been already issued.
The DEO Samba also directed all the election officials to follow the govt. SOPs regarding Covid-19 and informed that necessary protective gears will be made available to all those deployed for election duty.
During the training program, all participants were thoroughly sensitized about model code of conduct, nomination process, scrutiny of nomination forms, withdrawal of candidature and other allied procedures for smooth conduct of the elections.
The tanning program was attended by Deputy District Election Officers, Rajeev Mangotra, District Panchayat Officers, Piyush Dhotra, PO ICDS Anu Bhel, GM D.I.C Sansar Chand, besides other officers were also present
