Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Wednesday directed the Engineers of National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to set weekly, monthly targets and expedite the progress of work on 4 laning of Jammu-Akhnoor Raod Project for its timely completion.
The Div Com passed these directions during inspections of work at several sites including Patel Nagar, Paloura, Muthi, Domana, Mishriwala and Bhaterra.
He was accompanied by General Manager, NHIDCL, SDM, North Jammu, Tehsildar concerned, site Engineers of NHIDCL and other concerned officers.
The NHIDCL officials apprised the Div Com about the present status of work on prestigious road project, besides progress achieved so far and the future work plan. It was informed that out of total 126 pillars for the flyover, 98 pillars have been raised and work is in progress on remaining pillars.
The Div Com directed the NHIDCL officers to expedite the pace of work for its timely completion. He also instructed the executing agencies to repair and blacktop the the existing road for smooth flow of traffic.
The Div Com also reviewed the progress on land acquisition, structure removal and disbursement of compensation. It was informed that land acquisition and disbursement of compensation to land owners, structure removal was almost complete.
