Srinagar : Srinagar Municipal Corporation is continuing with the demolition drives in Srinagar city, said an official spokesperson of Kashmir’s top civic body in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
“The Enforcement wing conducted demolitions at various places across the city .Demolitions for the last one week has been carried out in Zainakoot , Banapora Batamaloo, Panzinara, and Khushaalsar”, reads the statement, adding that “a shop under construction at Mustafabaad Parimpora HMT was also demolished”.
The statement also said that besides removal of Encroachment at Nandan Nowhatta, the Enforcement wing also conducted demolitions in Paandach area, adding that “more over a structure at Natipora with shuttering and erected wooden planks was pulled down”.The spokesperson in the above referred statement also said that an illegal construction coming up at Sazgaripora was also demolished at initial stage, adding that,many demolitions were also conducted at Qamarabaad Barthana,90 feet Soura , Ahmed Nagar, Safakadal and Lawaypora..
Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali who takes weekly review from enforcement wing regarding demolitions and constructions, the statement said, is also personally conducting site visits where illegal constructional activities take place in order to cross check the facts of demolition reports submitted by the concerned and also check the status of constructions as per the permissions. Ali further, the statement said, monitors the regular updation and progress on demolition drives on a Communication Group having concerned officials as participants in it to seek immediete response on receiving complaints of illegal constructions
“The Concerned officials are also being constantly directed to immediately stop work of all those structures at an early stage deviating from sanctioned building plans and act promptly against those structures coming up without permission”, the statement reads.
