G’bal police organises cultural cum singing competition event under the banner of police sports festival

Ganderbal: In order to pay homage and to pay tribute to policemen killed in action, Ganderbal police on Friday organised Cultural-Cum-Singing Competition under the banner of Police Sports Festival at Qamaria Park on the bank of Sindh. Besides, organised cycle race ‘pedal for peace and fitness’ in Ganderbal.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS was the chief guest and Additional SP Ganderbal was the guest of honour, besides other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
Similarly, the cycle race was also flagged off by SSP Ganderbal from Sumbal Bridge to Manigam through NHM. The event was witnessed by large number of participants and some local sports lovers thronged on the road side to cheer up the participating racers.
SSP Ganderbal in his address said that such events organized by police is to pay tribute as well as in remembrance of policemen killed in action who sacrificed their lives for protecting the life and property of the people and whole country is endorsing the courage and valour of slain policemen. He also added that efforts to move a step forward to provide platforms to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists by showcasing their talent, so that they can step forward in their respective fields rather than they have inclination towards anti-social activities.
Later on a prize distribution ceremony was also held and cash prizes were distributed among the winners of singing competition. SSP Ganderbal also distributed cash prizes among the cycle race winners and participation certificates among the participants.
