ICDS Kupwara organises awareness prog for AGs

Kupwara: Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Kupwara Thursday organised a day long awareness program for Adolescent Girls (AGs), here.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, presided over the program.
During the program, the experts gave general awareness regarding nutrition, health education, IFA supplementation and access to public service.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC congratulated the organisers for conducting an awareness program for Adolescent Girls. He also stressed for holding of such programs in the district so that more and more adolescent girls could get the benefit of the schemes envisaged by the government from time to time.
He specifically mentioned the programs like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and ’Poshan Abhiyaan’ and added that the Poshan Abhiyaan is the overarching scheme for holistic nourishment of the adolescent girls.
On the occasion, the ADC distributed kits among the adolescent girls consisting of ladies hand bags, masks, sanitizer and medicines.
Among others, ICDS Project Officers, Supervisors, Anganwari Workers and a number of Adolescent Girls attended the event.
