Srinagar: National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti have in their separate statements felicitated people on the auspicious observance of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
In a statement issued here, Dr. Farooq and Omar Abdullah said Eid-ul-Milad was an occasion to dedicate ourselves to the teachings of our beloved Prophet (SAW) in letter and spirit and work tirelessly towards helping those in need. Both leaders prayed for peace and stability in Jammu & Kashmir. Dr Farooq Abdullah said Islam was the religion of peace and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the perfect embodiment of love, equality and brotherhood. He said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) point us towards the path of peace, affection and kindness.
Omar Abdullah in his message said Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) provides us an opportunity to pray and seek forgiveness and blessings from the Almighty for the entire mankind. “I pray to Allah to give us the wisdom and guide us on the path to dedicate ourselves to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
Former Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti In her message on the occasion said the Prophet (SAW) taught lessons of compassion, mercy, tolerance and brotherhood to humanity-all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s strife infested world. She added that amongst all the great gifts bestowed upon mankind by Allah, the birth of the Prophet (SAW) was the greatest and the kindest one. “Almighty Allah sent the Prophet (SAW) as Rehmatal-lil-Alimeen (mercy to mankind). People irrespective of caste colour and religion can seek guidance from the holy Prophet’s (SAW) teachings as he had tremendous love for humanity in general and compassion for the poor and needy in particular. Mehbooba said she prays to Almighty Allah to reignite peoples’ hearts and souls with the love of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam.
