Advisor Baseer takes stock of public issues, demands at Shallabugh G’bal

Ganderbal: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Thursday visited Shallabugh Ganderbal to assess the local issues and listen to the grievances of the people at their doorsteps for speedy disposal of the same.
District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, SSP Ganderbal, khalil Poswal, Chief Engineer PDD, ADC Ganderbal, ACD, concerned BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, district officers besides huge gathering of people of adjoining areas were present on the occasion.
PRI representatives and locals highlighted their issues and demands meant for overall development of the area like widening of Perpora Shallabugh road, construction of Shallabugh bridge over Nallah Sindh, ambulance service at NTPHC Shallabugh, development of wildlife sanctuary Shallabugh, upgradation of transformers, Higher Secondary school in the area and sought Advisor’s personal intervention for resolving them in a stipulated timeframe.
While replying to the demands projected, the Advisor said that the LG led administration is always available to listen to the issues of the people and assured that genuine issues will be redressed in a time bound manner.
Terming good road network vital for development, Advisor assured that the Pirpora Shallabugh road widening demand will be taken into consideration which will definitely yield better results in future after its commissioning.
The Advisor directed the Chief Engineer PDD to conduct the field survey and share feedback of damaged poles and wires and requirement of transformers within the fifteen days so that same are replaced before the onset of winter. He also assured that electricity scenario will be better during this winter.
Highlighting the objective of public outreach programmes, Advisor said that a comprehensive plan in the shape of B2V program has been initiated to access the needs of people at their door steps as LG has also personally visited various far flung areas of Jammu & Kashmir to have firsthand appraisal about issues and requirements in these areas. LG led administration believes in what is possible on ground and those works will be taken which are important for the community without any influence or favour, he added.
Terming empowerment of PRIs as the basic building blocks of development, Advisor appealed the common masses to participate enthusiastically in forthcoming panchayat elections to elect their representative so that their respective areas are developed as per their choice and to bridge gaps between people and administration.
The Advisor also took round of the stalls installed by the line Departments and enquired about the schemes and services provided by them for the welfare of the people. Later, Advisor also distributed Domicile certificates, income certificates, baby kits, Kissan Credit Cards and hearing aids among the beneficiaries.
