Srinagar/Oct,28 : Former Union Minister Prof Saif Ud Din Soz on Wednesday said that people of Jammu & Kashmir would defeat the central government’s designs of settling outsiders in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Soz said “If India’s National Opposition does not intervene in Jammu and Kashmir, the people will be forced to raise their voice for intervention by the international community to correct the social and political malaise created by the Central Govt”.
Stating that “Union Govt. does not understand that while the people of J&K State had accepted Maharaja Hari Singh’s Deed of Accession to India through which they acceded to India, but did not merge with India like other states!”, Soz said “the Central Govt. abrogated J&K Domicile laws abruptly and unilaterally”. Pointing out that “if the Central govt. does not withdraw the J&K adaptation of Registration of Central laws, order 2020, which allows outsiders to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir State”, Soz said “there will be a strong reaction to this action of the Central Govt. in J&K State”.
He said “the Union Govt.’s said order is atrocious and provocative and if the said law is not withdrawn forthwith, the people of J&K State will raise their strong voice which will be heard throughout the world”, adding that ” that situation will further internationalize the Kashmir issue!”
Stating that there is resentment against the Union Govt. in Jammu also where people feel the threat of outsiders settling in Jammu and Kashmir and they also feel that Kashmir is immune to these threats!, the former Union Minister said “the President Bar Association Kathua, has also issued a statement to the same effect”.
Soz while appealing the country’s national opposition for immediate intervention said “India’s National Opposition would be well advised to intervene and correct the malaise and terrific mess created by the Central Govt”, adding that “the national Opposition would also be well advised to open negotiations with Kashmir Peoples’ Alliance leadership to appreciate the latest political scenario in J&K State.”
