Baramulla: In a significant move to empower the youth for obtaining their sustainable livelihood, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf Tuesday distributed Artificial Insemination (AI) accessories including AI kits, cryocans etc among the Multi Purpose AI Technicians in Rural India (MAITRI) candidates here.
The distribution was carried out during a function organized in Veterinary campus Baramulla.
After distributing the accessories, ADDC emphasized on the importance of the Animal Husbandry Department in the district and its role in providing sustainable employment to the youth.
He complimented its role and said various initiatives are being taken in this regard besides urged upon the unemployed youth to avail benefits of such schemes and programs.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Baramulla Dr. S. M. Anwar Andrabi highlighted the objectives of the program and informed that a total of 31 MAITRIs are in the district. He also highlighted their importance and gave a detailed presentation of various incentives being provided to them by the department.
