ACB produces chargesheet against Ex CAO, others in Anti Corruption Court Baramulla

Srinagar: The anti-cooruption bureau (ACB) produced a charge sheet and all the detained named accused in the case of construction of a Protection Bund at Nallah Tulwari at Rawathpora Kupwara actually constructed by Block Development Office Kralpora a few years back.
A statement issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said that the instant case was registered against Abdul Rashid Wani (then CAO Kupwara), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah (then ASCO Kupwara), Abdul Majid Dar (then SCA Kupwara), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Lone (then SCA Kupwara), Abdul Qayoom Shah (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Khan (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Nazir Ahmad Mir R/o Rawathpora Kupwara (Beneficiary), Tasnima Banoo R/o Rawathpora Kupwara (Beneficiary) and Abdul Rashid Mir R/o Thandipora Kupwara (Beneficiary). “The Anti Corruption Bureau has produced a charge sheet in case FIR No. 25/2014 u/s 5(1)(c), 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act & sections 120-B, 109 RPC in Anti Corruption Court Baramulla”, the statement reads.
In it’s statement the ACB further said that during the course of investigation the accused officers/officials of Agriculture Department were found in league with private beneficiaries, booked expenditure against construction of Protection Bund at Nallah Tulwari at Rawathpora Kupwara which was actually constructed by Block Development Office Kralpora a few years back. The statement said “by abuse of their official positions, they have misappropriated the funds which were meant for carrying out flood protection works on Nallah Tulwari and thereby caused a loss of Rs 2,47,993/- to the State Exchequer”.
The Chargesheet, the statement said, was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Baramulla after Government accorded prosecution sanction in respect of in-service accused public servants vide order No. 52-JK-GAD (Vig) of 2020 dated 15.10.2020. All the ten (10) accused public servants and private beneficiaries were arrested and produced in custody before the Court alongwith the chargesheet against them.
