Handicraft & Handloom Deptt participates in NOIDA HAAT, showcases crafts of Jammu

Jammu: The Handicraft & Handloom Department Jammu has provided Handicraft, Handloom Cooperatives to participate in three exhibitions being held at Noida Haat NCR Delhi by ITE Group.
As part of the festival, the first Utsav, namely Vijay Utsav has been completed successfully in which Handicraft, Handloom cooperatives Registered with Handicraft and Handloom department Jammu Viz Modern Art and Bamboo Crafts HCS ltd, Barnai Jammu, Tasnga Teholiga stone jewellery, embroidery works HCS Hangoo Padder Kishtwar, New Style Handloom ICS Machail Kishtwar, Budha Hangoo Embroidery Eorks ICS Hangoo Padder Kishtwar also participated .
Under the instructions and guidance of Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Industries and Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi these cooperatives had been selected by the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom Jammu to participate in the Vijay Utsav event held during 17th October to 25th October, 2020.
During the event all the participants exhibited their handmade products to attract the visitors and satisfactory sale was made by the participants in this event. The cooperatives got a good response in the Utsav, particularly during Covid 19 pandemic period.
All the participants have got a good opportunity to showcase their handicrafts and Handloom products at the National level, which provided them the marketing platform during in this pandemic Covid 19.
As a sequel to the Vijay Utsav two more exhibitions are going to take place at the same place which include Diwali Utsav from 30th October to 12th November, 2020 and Shilp Utsav from 17th December to 27th December, 2020.
The Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu is going to provide opportunity and platform to some more Handicraft and Handloom Cooperatives to participate in the forthcoming Utsavs.
The artisans of these societies thanked Director Handicraft and Handloom Jammu, Vikas Gupta for providing such a nice and big platform to them.
Assistant Director Udhampur, ND Verma along with other officials also accompanied the artisans to Noida.
