Mendhar: Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of narcotics in Basooni area of Mendhar.
In a statement issued on Thursday a police spokesman said that on a specific information about the dealing of narcotics between unwn persons in Basooni in the intervening night of 21-22 Oct, SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri alongwith police party of SHO Mendhar launched searches in the area.
“During search, they recovered narcotics (Heroin like substance) in three packets weighing 3.2 kg,” the statement said.
In this regard, police said a case under FIR number 247/2020 at Police Station Mendhar has been lodged and investigation is going on to trace its linkages .
“People of the area have appreciated the role of police in recovery of this huge quantity of narcotics and trying to curb this menace which spoils the youth of the area,” the statement added
