Srinagar: The inspection teams of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) constituted by team’s Kashmirv directorate on Thursday penalized a fine of Rs93,200 from 415 defaulter.
Reports said that on the basis of various complaints regarding overpricing received by this office and on the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, joint teams of FCS&CA Department and Legal Meteorology Department were constituted which inspected the markets since last two days and 1804 establishments were inspected which include meat sellers, vegetable vendors, fruit sellers, poultry shops etc. Out of the 1804 establishments inspected a fine of Rs. 93,200 was realised from 415 defaulters. Moreover 29 defaulters which include 10 vegetable vendors, 10 mutton dealers and 9 other establishments were found exploiting the consumers by way of overcharging, hoarding etc. as such were booked and FIRs were lodged against them in various districts of Kashmir Division at their respective Police Stations.
