Block Divas held across all the distts of Kashmir divn

Srinagar: The Block Divas or Youm-e-Block was Wednesday observed with great enthusiasm across all the districts of Kashmir division.
On the occasion, the respective District Administrations organised related events at different locations of the district to listen to the public issues, grievances and raise awareness on various schemes including individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
The objective of celebrating the Block Diwas is to assess the progress of developmental works being executed in different sectors besides redressing the public grievances and providing the services to the masses at their door steps to strengthen grassroots level democracy.
At Anantnag: District Administration Anantnag Wednesday organized Block Diwas cum redressal camp at SDM office Dooru which was attended by a large number of local people including from the adjacent villages besides, presidents of various Auqaf Committees, civil society members and prominent citizens.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Kuldeep Krishan Sidha along with other officers from line departments & LDM JK Bank Anantnag were present in the camp.
The Auqaf Committee representatives, general public and civil society members apprised the DDC regarding various issues and demands and sought their immediate redressal.
The DDC listened to the issues and demands of the public patiently and assured of redressing grievances of public importance.
At Budgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza attended the Block Diwas program held in the lawns of Govt. Boys High School Haran, Block Soibugh.
While addressing the public, the DDC said that the development work shall be expedited and peoples role in formulating plan is critical and the need of the hour is to strengthen Panchayat Raj institution.
On the occasion, the line departments of the district had installed stalls at the venue depicting and demonstrating various kinds of services, products and schemes meant for public welfare.
He took an opportunity to inform the public at Soibugh that Panchayat Raj institution will have three tiers in place, 14 constituencies have been notified in district for upcoming District Development Council. Objections and suggestions are invited from the general public.
The DDC during his visit met scores of public delegations/individuals and listened to their issues and grievances.
The DDC instructed all District/Sectoral officers to remain sensitive to all the genuine issues and grievances registered by the public.
Later on, a cultural program was performed by girls depicting traditional folk songs.
He also distributed ladli beti certificates and uniforms among school going students.
At Pulwama: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer Wednesday listened to public issues and grievances at Pampore block and redressed hundreds of grievances on the spot .
The DDC said that Block Divas is a regular feature now and appealed to people to become active participants so that the issues of daily importance are redressed in the minimum possible time.
He directed the concerned Officers to be proactive and remain accessible to the people so that the purpose of the initiative is fulfilled.
Block Divas was also held in block Tral and Pulwama where detailed discussion was held regarding different developmental projects besides issues being faced by the common masses of different panchayats,
The designated officers including ADC Tral and BDO Pulwama besides other district and sectoral officers listened to the demands and issues of the people.
On the occasion, many grievances were solved on the spot and rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt redress through an established tracking system.
At Ganderbal: District Administration Ganderbal, Wednesday organised Block Diwas at different locations of the district to listen to the public grievances and raise awareness on individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
Designated senior officers were present at their respective Block headquarters where they listened to the public grievances and resolved the majority of them on the spot with the intervention of the concerned department.
District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal listened to grievances of people at Block Ganderbal where a large number of people including PRIs turned up to the camp and apprised the DDC about various issues and grievances and sought his intervention for early redressal.
The DDC resolved several issues on the spot besides issued instructions to the concerned departments to take measures to address the public issues.
The resource persons of various departments also raise awareness on individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
The DDC instructed officers for effective implementation of government schemes like ICDS, AYUSHMAN Bharat, PMKSN and other programmes to ensure cent percent saturation of schemes and appealed people to get benefit of individual beneficiary oriented schemes meant for providing financial support to them.
At Shopian: District Administration Shopian celebrated Block Diwas in 3 blocks Zainapora, Keller and Shopian where the concerned Chairpersons chaired the main functions.
The people of Shopian, Zainapora and Keller blocks apprised the concerned nodal officers about various problems being faced by them, the designated officers listened to the public grievances patiently and assured the public for early redressal.
Some of the demands were settled on spot, while the rest were diarized and people were assured of forwarding the same to the concerned quarters for early redressal.
Nodal officers designated for the purpose directed the concerned to work with missionary zeal to benefit the people and aware them about income generating schemes launched by the government.
At Kulgam: Mega Block Diwas functions were held at 3 blocks of the district Viz. Devsar, Kulgam and D.H.Pora.
During Mega Block Diwas officers and officials of all line departments listened to public issues, grievances and demands for redressal besides, raising awareness about various schemes and conducting registration and distribution programmes.
Meanwhile to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat remained available at Block Devsar where he met the general public.
On the occasion various certificates, sanction letters, were also distributed among the applicants.
