Srinagar: A.K Choudhary ADGP Armed visited Armed Police Complex Parihaspora on Tuesday and took the stock of functioning of four IRP Battalions viz IRP-3rd, IRP-9th, IRP-20 & IRP-21st Bns. housing in the Complex.
An official statement issued on Tuesday said that during the visit the ADGP conducted darbar of officers and jawans of all the four battalions jointly following all the norms of social distancing and other protocols of COVID-19. The darbar was aimed to hear the problems of jawans and their on-spot redressal by the ADGP. During the darbar the officers and jawans of the units put forth several personal as well as departmental problems mostly pertaining to their welfare. The ADGP patiently listened to the grievances of jawans and officers and assured them that all the problems at APC Parihaspora being genuine, shall be taken-up with PHQ on priority.
Addressing the officers and jawans on the occasion, the ADGP, according to the statement, emphasized upon them to remain ready for other assignments/ responsibilities to be assigned to them in near future. He stressed upon them to promote police public relations and maintain discipline of highest order. Highlighting the necessity of remaining extra alert/ vigilant and wearing proper anti-riot and BP gear while performing law & order duty, the ADGP stressed for keeping close liaison with other sister agencies as well. The ADGP also apprised the officers and men about the new policy to be introduced by the Govt. regarding reviewing performance of work of Govt. employees and advised them to work with dedication and devotion.
Highlighting the welfare measures being taken by the department for its officers and jawans, the ADGP said that the promotion of eligible officers and men commensurate to the vacancies are being made continuously by the Armed Police Headquarters. The ADGP laid emphasis on the prevailing security scenario and need for exercising extra alertness on the part of police personnel in their respective jurisdictions. He stressed for ensuring round the clock foolproof security of the complex housing the headquarters of four units and coys thereof. The ADGP also advised the officers of the units to focus on carrying out public friendly activities in the vicinity of their units as any good will gesture on the part of Police Men shall improve the image of entire police force in the eyes of people.
The ADGP highlighted the necessity for maintaining social distance wearing mask and washing hands frequently in order to contain spread of Corona Virus. He advised the unit personnel to maintain proper hygiene and keep themselves physically fit by attending the P.T, Games and doing breathing exercises regularly besides taking utmost care of the quality of food they take. The ADGP advised the concerned Commandants and Coy-Commanders to ensure that quality food is provided to the jawans and ensure that proper hygiene is maintained in and around the unit as well as coy level messes/ canteens particularly and the entire premises of APC in general.
During the visit the ADGP inspected the newly renovated office and newly constructed Conference Hall of IRP-20th Bn. The ADGP complimented Baqar Smoon-SSP Commandant IRP-20th Bn. for construction/ establishment of three bedded MI Room and Isolation centre on self help basis for the welfare of officers and men of all the units stationed at APC Parihaspora.
The ADGP accompanied by his Staff Officer Mahmood Ahmad-SSP, DySP Pers. Abdul Hamid Dar & Pvt. Secretary Syed Sajad Hussain-DySP(S) also conducted the inspection of Quarter Guard, Main Office, Daily Dairy, Clothing/ Equipment/ Raton Stores, Unit Magazines, Coy KOTs, Canteens, Signal Centres, Messes of all the Units in the premises of APC Parihaspora. The ADGP complimented the efforts of the Commandants of the units put in place in the APC Parihaspora and appreciated their role in maintaining law & order since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the valley.
Earlier, in his welcome address Baqar Samoon-SSP Commandant IRP-20th Bn. apprised the ADGP about the achievements, infrastructure upgradation at the complex, various issues pertaining to all the four battalions, medical facilities, power supply and security review at complex. He also highlighted other requirements of the complex.
